Also, you are probably being unfair because you listed multiple countries and probably basically mean US vs the rest of the world. Which increases the odds of some country somewhere getting a better release. But if we're only talking about a single country's releases, then the US has the best releases by far.
The three countries you listed also have annoying trends:
Thicker cases (UK and Australia) - which are OK if there is a thick booklet inside or something, but generally only require extra shelf space
Ratings logos on covers and discs, Germany has the biggest and ugliest ratings logos IMO
Whereas the US has thin, shelf space friendly cases and no ugly ratings logos on covers and discs.

Basically, some releases are better for international editions and others are not. I'm sure there are Blu-ray fans in other countries who feel the same. Certainly, I know there are those who like to import releases from the US (especially for Criterion releases) and for titles that are less likely to be released internationally soon.
So worldwide there can be some discrepancies between editions and releases from time to time.
