What the article fails to mention is that Sony is supposed to launch it's own download service on the PS3 later this year, and hence will also be one of the "Supporters of digital downloads".... will be interesting to see if it has HD offerings.

Downloads are not a threat, but Sony will want to cover all the bases and get a piece of the action, since they'll have oodles of set top boxes out there with the PS3.

(Of course they failed in their proprietary music format (ATRAC) days with CONNECT)
