I've been around games for a long time now, and I've come to the realization that yes, it seems like everything is a derivative of something that has come before (Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, R&C:F), and that games that take too long to develop can end up not being as cutting edge as originally planned (Lair), or a franchise that is resting on it's laurels, merely using it's name recognition to sell a bajillion copies (NBA '08, Madden '08).

Does that mean that Uncharted, Lair and the rest are going to suck? Hell no. It means that the previewers are being objective at this point, giving the 'bad' as well as the 'good'. If I want nothing more than pure marketing hype, I'll visit the websites of the respective games.

This year is going to be exciting for gaming on all next-gen platforms, the PS3 especially, but I prefer a dose of reality when hearing about these upcoming games.

One last thing....Most of these games aren't 100% complete either, there is still time to polish things, so I wouldn't take it too much to heart.

No not at all on the rosy opinions, just how they presented their opinions. They like it then the next paragraph lets bash it...lol
