While I have not viewed the PoTC I have already heard complaints about the movie being too long. I heard this same argument about Spider Man 3 (SM3). My response to this has always been, the longer the movie the more value I get for my money. By the way, I plan to see PoTC this weekend. I am very excited. My wife and I are watching the first two in blu-ray (bought them on Tuesday) before we go.

The longer the better. More bang for your money. If its too long or parts are too slow then hit the fast forward button or take a bathroom break.
Lots of people think if its too long it adds stuff that is irrelevent to the movie or slows the pace down. So it really is a personal preference.
