Default The Future of Gaming

I feel like PS4 and Xbox One are both Last Gen consoles. And the Wii U the Gen before Last Gen. I secretly hope they will release a XboxOne+/PS4+ (expensive premium models) or a PS5/Xbox2 by 2015 that meet the industry standards because they won't be able to compete in the gaming industry any longer if they keep going like they do now. If nothing changes the gaming industry will focus on PC and Oculus Rift, which is not a bad thing, but competition is always good. I'm afraid that PS4 and Xbox One will fall into a gaming niche like Wii U now , with quality games, but just with cute graphics and nothing exceptional. The hardware of the PS4 and Xbox One is simply outdated and was already the day the machines were released. The technical specs were very short-sighted and focused on saving money. The secondary is acceptable and understable, but still i would prefer a premium model complementary as well. A true next gen gaming console should offer 4K @60-120 fps . Next year 4K Blu-rays will be released and more HFR movies will come to the cinemas (Avatar 2, Hobbit 3, etc...) XboxOne and PS4 have only a hdmi 1.4 port, which is the old one. It only supports 4K @ 24 fps, that means no compatibility with future HFR 4K Blu-Rays nor 4K gaming with 60 fps of which they are incapable of anyway, they barely manage 1080p @ 60 fps. The new industry standard is hdmi 2.0. Extremely short-sighted!!!
If they don't catch up with the new standards that are also implemented into gaming, the gaming industry and hardcore gamers will soon focus on PC and maybe Steam Machines and of course! Oculurs Rift. I'd also like to see support for Oculus Rift on the consoles if they ever catch up to Next Gen. Problem is VR needs HFR beyond 60fps and a resolution of 4K to feel realistic, else you see the pixelmatrix, you get dizzy and it looks cheap. How should Project Morpheus be a success if the hardware of the PS4 is so limited? :/
So what is the future for the PS4 and the Xbox One? Mediocre gaming machines with no use for Home Entertainment?
Or will Sony and Microsoft deliver new premium models to meet the industry standards? I feel like if they miss the train now, they will be stuck in the gaming past, just like Nintendo.
PS4 -------------| PS4+
1080/30~60p --| 2160/60p
hdmi 1.4 --------| hdmi 2.0
blu-ray ----------| 3d/4k/hfr blu-ray
