I'm not entirely sure why you are PowerDVD Ultra is crashing. You should be getting an error message, though, if you are trying to use a DVI cable with that monitor.
Your monitor doesn't support HDCP so you MUST use a VGA connection to the monitor ... but I wouldn't attempt that until you at least get the system working otherwise). Try that and see if it keeps the program from crashing.
If not, I would uninstall PowerDVD Ultra and reinstall to see if that helps. Also, you MUST play BDs within either the PowerDVD Ultra or WinDVD BD Edition software itself. You cannot playback in other software (Media Player, etc) the way you can with DVDs.
