Yeah, I don't even have kids, LOL - yet I couldn't see myself wasting the money/space on an entire extra set just to get a 15 minute DVD extra that will be easily viewable on YouTube, and that I would watch once at most.
$2/minute for a DVD I'm only going to watch once - yeah, I'm OK on making the decision not to do that, ;-).

HBO decided to go cheap with Boardwalk Empire Season 4 and used a different material for the box and it wasn't as tall as the other seasons so it didn't match up.
I'm worried this will be the norm from now on. I'm pretty OCD and just want my boxes to match up with the first three seasons of Game of Thrones.

Eh, I wouldn't worry just yet. Boardwalk Empire does != GoT.
I understand the concern as they are made by the same folks, but I'm sure GoT sells many times over the amount of sets that Boardwalk Empire does, and HBO knows how many folks buy them up simply for the alternate packaging versions, so I'm hoping for the best.
