I really don't understand the hold-up on Humongous. Should be a relatively easy release. Scorpion's transfer was already gorgeous and really only needed that audio error fixed.

Unless maybe Shout has found elements with previously deleted gore?

Or maybe they're doing a new 4K scan from the ground up?

The hold up is it's not a John Carpenter title they can milk again and again. It's not HK and it wasn't made 10 years ago. I really hope them having the rights is just a rumor - so far I haven't seen or read anything that convinces me 100% they own the rights now. The thing is, I don't even see Vinegar Syndrome being interested in it either, sadly. Maybe Terror Vision. A year ago I wouldn't have given TV the time of day but now I think they're going to save the horror genre for us. Them and Red Shirt Pictures/Synapse.

The problem is ,is all the good shit has been released by Scream Factory and Vinegar syndrome. Even Arrow back in the day, now all three of them are mostly only re releasing pre existing blu rays on 4k. And thats cool, but as far as never on disc or blu ray or 4k, its slim pickings. And I agree TerrorVision is awesome.

Deatharcana even specified not liking gun-heavy action. What would you expect them to think of John Woo? You wouldn't put someone who isn't an ass-man in front of a Tinto Brass film and expect them to like it.
I don't like a lot of films, but if everybody is excited about an important release that's been in limbo for decades, I don't wander into the Deaf Crocodile thread all like "these eastern European films are so boooooring" and expect fans in their moment of triumph to be like "thank you for showing us what we had forgotten, oh sage"

If that's your version of "dissent", you are in a safe place and do not require backup

Listen the reason I originally quoted it was because the person was in disbelief someone wasn't excited/happy about it or loved the movie or whatever. So I just added "yeah I'm not excited about it either". And then everyone got their feelings hurt because how dare I dislike the tiny indie film director known as John Woo(i'm sure he's fine, just again I don't like gun heavy action!) .

If THAT is too much, what part of that is abnormal from the average reaction after any announcement? Are you just ignoring the temper tantrums when VS releases a mildly well known movie and not Big Breasts of Blood Massacre IV? Hell I've seen posts in this thread recently about people whining about more recent "bad' horror movie being released instead of whatever SOV slasher they want. We're just here posting "I like this, I don't like that" in between people posting their wishlists for the 10th time this year in every other thread.

Just stating that: yes, there ARE people that don't care for that type of film. Also this is the SCREAM Factory thread. And I wasn't criticizing horror but action films, following your own logic we should move all non-Scream discussion to the Shout thread.

You're right, this is the wrong thread. And yes I am ignoring the VS discussion for those very reasons. I guess I just thought you were being a little hard on Woo on his big day and I got excited. Sorry.

Now what do you say we go grab some ice cream?

Guys I'm hot as a cheetahs ass running through the wilderness in the summertime today. What's a good horror movie to watch that will cool me down?
