Lots of great announcements lately, but Norstein is one of the best - can't wait!

Is there going to be a standard edition of Sirius?

That Norstein set is something I've been hoping for - for many many years! I would recommend getting in touch with Clare Kitson for the extras if you haven't already - she was a commissioning editor for Channel 4 in the UK, who got Norstein's work onto television, and then later wrote a superb book: Yuri Norstein and Tale of Tales: An Animator's Journey

It would also be incredible if you could get this Japanese documentary that came out last year:

Quote:
One year after the war between Russia and Ukraine in 2022, we interviewed Yuri Norstein, the world-renowned animator known for The Tale of Tales and The Little Hedgehog in the Fog, who lives in Moscow. The interview was conducted over three sessions and lasted a total of eight hours. In response to our questions, Norstein provided a rich interpretation of the world, referencing numerous works of art and literature. What a single painting by Van Gogh reveals to us, what Russian literature by Pushkin, Chekhov, and Gogol teaches us about human dignity, and what light-hearted concepts Issa, Basho, and Hokusai offer... What can we learn from the art and literature of our predecessors? This documentary film is a gift for all those seeking clues in this confusing world. A stunning 90 minutes filled with Norstein's overwhelming passion and erudition.

Per Deaf Crocodile's social media:

Pre-sales start Friday Sept. 19th for our Silent October horror titles: Norbert Pfaffenbichler's post-apocalyptic 2551 TRILOGY, first worldwide Blu-ray release, and Henrik Galeen's delirious Expressionist gems ALRAUNE + THE STUDENT OF PRAGUE, restored by the Filmmuseum Mόnchen, first-ever U.S. Blu-ray release by @deafcrocodile!

Holy smokes, I just watched the trailer for DC's upcoming release of The Devil's Bride (1974), and it is completely bananas. Anyone seen this before? Seems pretty obscure and totally up my alley!

Yes, but they are going to wait to release it. I guess they want to drive further sales of their limited editions, so they want to make it the only available edition come the release date. Not sure when they plan to release it, but they have confirmed it will get a standard release.

DC only posted the trailer on their YouTube account two days ago.
