Well F me. I just paid an unseemly amount for Batman Forever just a month or two ago. It’s tough being a soundtrack collector

Following the mention/preview in the news article about the Goldfinger vinyl release, La-La Land Records have announced on their Facebook page today the summer release of the next expanded Bond music score/soundtrack album on CD (a two-disc set), On Her Majesty's Secret Service (shipping late-July). Below is the website pre-order listing page link, followed by the picture on the listing page of the 2-CD set with essay booklet etc.:
https://lalalandrecords.com/on-her-m...tion-2-cd-set/ [Show spoiler] Note, that the price has gone up by about USD $1 for this title. I've also noticed that La-La Land Records' website has a slightly different look (and I'm glad to see that my browser has no problem with the website now (compared to when LLL had their last sale). Assuming the exclusivity period is 90 days again. With today being July 1st, it'll be the end of September before the expanded On Her Majesty's Secret Service album will be available to pre-order on Screen Archives Entertainment's website. |

Damn! I hate Sacred Bones. I waited 2 years after Halloween Ends came out to see if we'd get expanded scores for the last 2 films like with the 1st before I purchased them. Now this comes out:
https://johncarpentermusic.bandcamp....ded-collection I already have 4 CDs of this series, now I have to figure out if I really need these and in which configuration. At least you can buy the 2nd and 3rd expanded scores separately. |

Wow! Octopussy is down under 300 units until all 5000 are gone. That sold a lot faster than I anticipated. After seeing that, I put in an order at Moviemusic since I wanted to grab the new release of The Secret of NIMH as well. I was pretty frantic searching for a 3rd, but remembered I wanted to expand my Les Baxter collection and grabbed Marco Polo, though, I've never see the film. I would've rather had one of his AIP films, but what are you going to do?

Been playing guessing games as to which Bond film will get an expanded CD release next. I don't think it will be another one from the sixties. From what I've read, there was some unused score music for Diamonds Are Forever. I'm going for The Spy Who Loved Me or A View to a Kill next. |

La-La Land Records posted on their Facebook page earlier that they've got some more copies in of the expanded music score/soundtrack CD album releases of Live and Let Die and Tomorrow Never Dies. At the time the Facebook post for Tomorrow Never Dies was made (four hours ago), it said it was the last batch (with the Live and Let Die post it said it's "back in stock").

Two further update posts on LLL's Facebook page, this time about Octopussy and The Mask of Zorro. With the former, an update on fellow member Brown Jenkin's post from this past Wednesday, less than 200 units remain now. Ditto with the latter, less than 200 units remain.
Going back to the previous post, I hope Live and Let Die is still available next week. Will just have to take it on the chin and purchase it from LLL directly with the higher shipping charge and poorer exchange rate (ie: PayPal is the only payment option and they always have a poorer exchange rate). It's no longer available from Screen Archives (which has cheaper shipping rates). Last edited by OceanBlue; 08-15-2025 at 10:52 PM. Reason: Added second paragraph. |

Octopussy is gone at LLL and everywhere else now. I got my order yesterday and immediately popped it in. Unfortunately, I only got about half way through before I conked out so I'll have to listen proper later. I was awaked by Coolridge singing the end song, so heard the rest of the 1st disc before passing out again. I will say the track "India" is top-tier, Barry-Bond scoring.
A few hours later--fully awake--I listened to the 1st disc of ...NIMH. Man, am I glad I passed on the 1st version Intrada released. It's one of my favorite animated films (possibly my favorite), but when I reviewed the film during the score release kept debating on buying and ultimately passed. The raves for this version were too overwhelming to ignore. Truly some of Goldsmith's most fantastic work. It's evident he really enjoyed working on this film. Now, the real surprise was Marco Polo, due mostly from having no idea what genre the film would even be. Turns out it's an adventure film w/a fun, jaunty score with exotic flourishes. I now have to see this film. I found it so enjoyable I had to search for more scores by Baxter until 2:30am. Stinks I missed the boat when they were putting a lot of his stuff out about 10 years ago, but I did score (no pun intended) The Raven/An Evening of Edgar Allan Poe and X: The Man with X-Ray Eyes/Morella, both discs under $25 brand new. Not familiar with Morella, but I own the other 3 films. Last edited by Brown Jenkin; 08-19-2025 at 03:18 PM. |

Have already made a guess as to what the next Bond expanded music score/soundtrack CD album title will be, but today I've been thinking if La-La Land Records will follow the On Her Majesty's Secret Service CD album release with the next vinyl release(s) - Octopussy and Live and Let Die in the fall/autumn?

First found out about this on Screen Archives Entertainment's Facebook page earlier and subsequently checked it out on their website. Available now from Intrada Records is Jaws 50th Anniversary Special Edition, a 3-CD set. Below is the Intrada website listing page link, followed by the Screen Archives website page link (I don't know how to get the artwork from Intrada's website included in this post (can though with titles on LLL's website), and the artwork Screen Archives' website is much smaller:

To begin with, LLL posted on soclal media as well as on their website during the last few days, that they now have under 100 copies left of their vinyl release of Goldfinger.
Next (and I had intended on posting this yesterday but due to being very behind with catching-up after having part of this past weekend off, I didn't get round to posting this), LLL announced on their Facebook page yesterday three new music score/soundtrack CD album releases: Black Sunday: Remastered Limited Edition The Island: 20th Anniversary Remastered & Expanded Limited Edition (2-CD set) and Thunderball: 60th Anniversary Remastered and Expanded Limited Edition (2-CD set). Below is the LLL website page link for each of the above new titles, followed by the large picture of each title (CD discs, essay booklet etc.) on the website page): https://lalalandrecords.com/black-su...mited-edition/ [Show spoiler] https://lalalandrecords.com/island-t...tion-2-cd-set/ [Show spoiler] https://lalalandrecords.com/thunderb...tion-2-cd-set/ [Show spoiler] All three titles will start shipping late this month. |

It'll be about the end of November/beginning of December before Thunderball will be available to pre-order on Screen Archives Entertainment's website (when the 90-day exclusive period is over). On Her Majesty's Secret Service will be available to order on there around the end of this month.
It's either pay the higher international shipping cost at LLL (bear in mind, it seems you can only pay via PayPal on there, and they have a poorer exchange rate) and get a title/the titles sooner, or wait three months to order a title/the titles at Screen Archives with the cheaper shipping cost. Hazarding a guess that we'll get one more expanded Bond music score/soundtrack album title announced before the end of this year (beginning of November?). |
