Finished today and had a great time. There were two spots I didn't quite know how to proceed, and one spot where there was a tricky jump that may have been easier in 3rd person, but it was a good experience overall. Played mostly on Series X w/ a bit of streaming to do some of the side quests.

I've really lost steam in my playthrough. After the outstanding intro and opening level, I slowly lost interest while in Giza. Now that I've made it to Sukhothai I'm just forcing myself to proceed and I'm not sure I want to keep playing. The gameplay isn't doing anything for me. When I reach an enemy camp I find that I don't really want to do stealth and I don't really want to fight. I don't find either option to be fun so I end up just grabbing a gun, picking a choke point, and just murdering all the enemies as they mindlessly enter my crosshairs so I can quickly finish the objective and move on. And while the exploration was a lot of fun in the first big area, it has gotten repetitive and the level design of the later levels simply does not match what we saw in The Vatican. The presentation is great, but the gameplay itself is just too dull and unrewarding.

I hit a wall in Sukhothai as well, took a few days off and was able to get back into it. Actually I forgot to mention after I got the disguise in Sukhothai I ran into a glitch where the game wouldn't let me change outfits or use items until I interacted with something in game, pretty frustrating.

It's a good first entry in hopefully a series. As I said before I just hope they get another chance to decide what they want the game to actually be, focus on that and make a better sequel.

That end fight was a big letdown.

Turned down the difficulty after a few tries, the gameplay is to clunky and stiff too have a first person “karate” fight with dialogue in between

[Show spoiler]I died a few times on the last fight where you are hanging on the whip, I thought you had to knock Voss off the whip. Turns out after one combo Gina says your name and you can just grab her hand and it's over...pretty lame.

A bit OT, I rode Indiana Jones Adventure yesterday. The voice actor doesn't sound much like Harrison Ford/Indiana Jones but it never bothered me on previous rides, after playing this game I want Disney to hire Troy Baker to re-record all the dialog on the ride.

I rode it on Monday too! Yeah, the voice actor on the ride doesn't really sound like Harrison. How did you like the ride?

It’s a really good ride! Never cared for theme parks but Star Tours and Indiana Jones Adventure changed my mind.

Hah, Star Tours is hit or miss for me. Lately, the scenes that they've been using have become very stale for me. A lot of Ahsoka Tano and other new-age Star Wars scenes that I don't care for that much, but I enjoy it much more than Smuggler's Run (Millennium Falcon ride)...which feels a lot more like a video game. But with the right scenes, the ride can be great.

Indiana Jones, when all of the ride elements are working correctly, is a top-tier Disneyland ride. And one thing that's cool about that ride is the vehicle you're in moves around differently every time. So it's a different experience every time you go on it.

Update 3 enhances some features, mostly for PC but FSR 3.1 should also apply to the Xbox version. I hope they add XeSS 2.x by the time the expansion comes out, pretty good tech so far.

Quote:
Calling all adventurers: Update 3 is now LIVE!
- NVIDIA DLSS 4
- Ray-Traced Local Lights
- Path Tracing (Full Ray Tracing) Support for AMD and Intel Graphics Cards
- FSR 3.1, including Frame Generation
- Intel XESS 1.4
- Plus a long list of bug fixes.

Extra info on DLSS 4 support.

Quote:
Update 3 introduces DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation and DLSS Ray Reconstruction; updates DLSS Super Resolution and DLAA to use NVIDIA’s new transformer-based AI model; and adds fully ray-traced shadows from all light sources.
Using DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, you’ll play at previously unobtainable frame rates with full ray tracing on GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards and enjoy even better image quality on all GeForce RTX desktops and laptops with the new DLSS transformer AI models. Enable DLSS Ray Reconstruction to replace multiple denoisers with a single, unified AI model that improves fidelity and performance.

The DLC seems to be as big as a story chapter, looking forward to it.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle™: The Order of Giants is available now on Xbox Series X|S, PC and PlayStation 5.

Quote:
For those who purchased the Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade, Collector’s Edition or Collector’s Bundle, the DLC is included. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants is also available as a standalone purchase, though the base game is required to play.
To access the DLC, you will need to have started the “Bring the Parchment to Antonio” objective in the mission “The Stolen Cat Mummy.” Once you hit this point, a new Fieldwork will appear in your Journal called “A Mystery Begins.” Find Father Ricci outside the west side of Belvedere Courtyard, just to the south of the Blackshirt barracks, to start the DLC chapter.
If you have already left the Vatican area, you can return at any point to meet Father Ricci through the Travels tab in your Journal.

Also some patch notes for those interested.

Quote:
This update enables compatibility with the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle™: The Order of Giants DLC, adds a new action experience difficulty, and contains a variety of other fixes and improvements!

I’m wary of $20 dlc since the Kirby and the Forgotten Lands one. I didn’t think that was very good value for money.

Shattered Space was $30 It was ok but felt short considering the scope of Starfield. Anyway, hoping this one is a better experience.

Haven’t picked up Kirby but I almost grabbed game + NS2 DLC on Amazon jp, works out to ~$50 which seems closer to the right price for Nintendo 1st party games.
