Yup, I ordered on Amazon too a few days ago since the writing was on the wall with MU. Hopefully Amazon comes through eventually.

MU at least waited longer than their sister site DD...

Sorry to ask... did a search and I am not seeing any posts with the answer. Is the included BD remastered in the UK set? Appreciate any insights.

EDIT: Seeing in the review that the US Steelbook set includes the older BD, so perhaps there isn't a remastered BD anywhere to be found.

Not sure if its remastered but it only plays region B although it says ABC right on the disk

Very pleased with the image on this 4K in DV. So healthy looking and filmic and such an appreciable difference over the Blu-ray. So many subtle highlights and shades are apparent from the HDR; a real pleasure to watch.

As mentioned in another post earlier, Crowe and Bettany are excellent together here. Very convincing and believable. A film of very high quality. I only wish it were longer, but it doesn't need to be. Glad we now have a transfer as good as this.

Finally. I was able to find this movie on 4k. It's the UK version, which is fine even though I do think those ratings certificates on the cover are hideous. They should think about doing reversible covers. Still, it's better than a bilingual Canadian cover. North American releases continue to be few and far between.

I don't quite understand releases like this. Such a high price of admission considering it's almost a bare bones release. I'm so glad I kept my Collector's Edition DVD all these years. The packaging on that was better too. Oh well, I have it on 4K now.

Just finished up watching the UK steel. My goodness, what a film.

Instead of the MCU, we should have gotten the M&CCU.

I know it's already been noted, but I was quite surprised by the number of shots that appear to be sourced from the VFX filmout—not that they were bad by any stretch of the imagination—but that there were so many of them. Weir and Boyd (national heroes ) were really pushing the boundaries of seamless VFX of a kind we take for granted today.

Anyway, a wonderful film. All you peeps who are not buying because of some "issue" or another are really doing yourselves a disservice.

How did you find the audio- compared to the older DVD and Blu-ray?

Maturing is realizing that the age ratings aren't that bad, and the fat cases are actually pretty nice. easily beats a steelbook.

still can't tolerate bilingual covers of english movies.

Yeah, not just all the big obvious VFX gags but for interiors there's all the bluescreened windows, for exteriors shot in the tank at Baja they had to paint out the Mexican landscape in the distance, they replaced most of the skies and several backgrounds in the Galapagos sequence, there's loads of it.

This is usual with the software. Star Wars, you get a ton due to opening crawls in different languages.

Has anyone actually calculated the offset between this, the us dvd and the blu-ray releases? Just looking at the video length isn’t enough, as you don’t know where the frames have been added.

The chapter markers don’t seem to show a standard deviation in this case, either (unlike with terminator). In spite of tutorials, I have not been able to get my mac-bound self to manage to load the audio tracks in audacity to compare the timings.

I've got the R4 SE DVD and Region B AU BD and I'd have to go back and have a listen. Certainly in my listening environment, I didn't feel anything was lacking on the UHD. My LFE is usually up a bit anyway. I know it's a hill some people want to die on but meh...it didn't impact my enjoyment of it.
