My Elemental Designs A2-300 recently started to make clicking noises, which I believe to be the plate amp trying, but failing to stay on. Since ED went out of business not long after I purchased my sub, I'm not really sure how or what to replace the amp with. Is there any compatible amps that could be easily and affordably swapped out?

Contact daveds50 he can repair the amp for you at a very reasonable cost. He fixed mine not too long ago, and even upgraded it to a LT300 for $20 more.

wow this thread is still kickin.... My 200 died a year ago, i got the amp fixed once but it died again smh. I went with SVS, lets see how they hold up.

My amp died on my A5-350. Does anyone know a replacement that I can buy? I have sifted through this thread but haven't seen any comments on it. Appreciate any help.

I'd suggest measuring the cutout for the amp and replacing it with an amp from parts express:

Or you can block the hole for the amp with ply or the like and add binding post and go with a pro amp. Crown, Behringer, iNuke etc

Look here at parts Express, 500 watts Class D plate amps at Parts express. You have a choice of 4 of them even 1K watts would work but it's quite expensive.

You might see some amps with more features you are looking for you might need to fit to your ED box. Look at the different sizes of plates and I am sure you will find an amp that fits.

I know ED has been gone for several years now but I wanted to see if anyone else is still using theirs.

I purchased my A2-300 back in June 2009 (received it July 2009) and it is still performing very well as my main subwoofer. I got mine shortly before they started to go downhill.

Anyone else here still using theirs? I have no desire to upgrade. It may not be the nicest looking subwoofer but, damn, does it shake my room. Every time I want to see how it is still really performing, I drop in my DVD copy of Lord of the Rings and watch the beginning scene where Sauron explodes. Still gives me goosebumps.

Yes, I'm still using several eD subs. None of mine are fully stock since some have different amps, others have different drivers... I bought them all used/broken and worked on them myself. They all still perform great, especially for the money I have invested in them.

Mine (A2-300), with an updated driver, is still going strong and I have no desire to upgrade/update,
