Default Wal-Mart's BD's (or lack thereof)

Sometime in the recent past, I saw a thread that stated Wal-Mart was expanding its BD selection.

My question is was that a company-wide policy, or just select stores? Because my local WM has actually scaled back their selection so that they have only new releases and those 6 or 7 Lionsgate titles that go for $10. They are all situated on an endcap that you see as soon as you enter the electronics department. And I'll be damned if I can find any more. They're just not there. WM is definitely not my first choice for Blu's, but I do like having options.

Pitiful selection around here, and they are locked up in a case to boot.

Thumbs down

It's usually just the poor selection on the "blu-ray" aisle and ocassionally they'll have them out on one of the islands but not usually. Makes you wonder how they're #2 in sales behind Best Buy.

Heck, one of our Wal-Marts here has the whole DVD section behind glass. They have or had a huge theft problem and finding empty cases all over the store so they chose to lock them all up. Its hard to get someone to unlock the cases when you want to look at something etc.

Our walmart had added more for a short time, it was 3 racks of 30 movie slots and the $15 section

Now all thats left is 2 sections of about 15-20 movies, one being the "new release" section and the $15 section (if that is even still there)

I gave up on even checking at walmart for blus soon after the $15 section started.

None of ours locked up though, they just sit out on the shelf.

The only things locked up around here are the games in glass cabinets

At my local Wally World they cut the bluray selection in half. I noticed the locked cases for the first time today, but only on some titles.

We had the "$15 section" but that was only there for a month. We have tons of stores in town, and the one closest to me are always sold out.

Anyway, their new releases are more expensive now.
