Just curious to see who hear replaces damaged cases on their BD movies. The Viva Elites seem to be kinda bad for the bottom and top parts of the spines blowing out, also sometimes the case will have a crack somewhere or once in a while the center hub that holds the disc will have a broken prong or two. Usually Vortex cases are better for now getting damaged I find.
Personally I replace these defective cases with new ones. Do you guys/gals replace a busted case or just let it be? |

Yes.
I had ordered several from Amazon before and they weren't right at all. The coloring was off and the cases were square. Luckily I came across DiscMakers and I placed an order for about 50 singles, 25 doubles, and 25 triples. Pretty reasonable (about $60 with shipping) and I couldn't be happier. Also for anyone who cares, you can get replacement Criterion cases for $1 from some website (I forgot the night, but it wasn't DiscMakers). |

I bought some Dynex cases from Best Buy shortly after I purchased my Blu-ray player. They're all double-disc cases, but they're sturdy and they look near-identical to the standard Blu-ray cases.
I buy a lot of my Blu-rays at used stores, and some of the used Blu-rays have cases that are in less-than-stellar condition, so it was a no-brainer to buy the replacement cases. The Dynex cases are 10 for $12.99, and you can get replacement cases at better prices online. I live within walking distance of a Best Buy, though, and do not have to fool with shipping costs, etc. when buying these Dynex cases. |

I usually swap a movie I like into the non-eco case of a movie I don't like as much, but I haven't gone out of my way to spend money on just replacement cases. My copy of Skyfall had a broken bottom clip right out of package so that's kinda annoying.

I have a few broken ones, but instead of buying replacements, I'm going to buy some double packs and triple packs when I combine some of my DVD collection with my blus to make my own Blu-ray DVD combo packs and just use the single disc cases as the replacements.
I have Collateral on DVD and Blu-Ray, and when I buy some double pack cases, I'll just use the Collateral case which is in good condition and change it out. I also plan on doing what some have done and printing out these custom Criterion covers and buying the criterion replacement cases for classics like Casablanca or 2001. |

![]() I have a few cases with cracks in them. Found that my green Incredible Hulk case has a crack and it's still wrapped. Was happy to find the green case at Target within the last year but it doesn't have the slip unfortunately. Opened up Perfect Storm and the case just fell apart ![]() |

Yes. And it makes me sad, but I'm so anal that I order the approprate company that corresponds with the ones the studios use (i.e. if I had a broken case for a Sony or Disney movie, I'd order a Vortex case; Viva Elite for the others).
