Default Sony 350 questions

I just loaded my Sony 350 with firmware upgrade .019 and all is peachy!!
Just wondering about a quirk or two -- but don't we all have funny quirks with all of our BD players sometimes, no matter what make or model.
I am playing "Independence Day" (ID4) right now. I loaded it into my 350 after I completed the .019 upgrade. I noticed after I loaded ID4 into the player the first time, the picture and sound "black out" during the 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment Blu-Ray screen for a second, as well as during the "July 2" frame for a second as well. Then I decide to stop the player (hit stop twice), open the drawer and then close the drawer and start loading it up again. Now the "black outs" do not occur and all is running well.
Also, you know the 20th Century Fox thing that comes on before a film begins (with the three drum rolls and then the brass going -- aka the Fox theme). It starts, but it dosen't play the first two short drum rolls -- it starts on the third and long drum roll (both picture and sound). It's like I'm missing the first second or two of the thing.
I hope you all know what I'm talking about. Will this correct itself after playing the whole movie and then start it up again.
You all have reported all kinds of weird things with some of your BD discs on some of your players (again, no matter what brand or model). But you all have also reported that your players stop those weird things by simply playing with your players and then things are all well with them.
Please tell me more about what's going on -- I'm not worried about my player not working -- but please share with me your "quirky stories" with your BD player and BD discs and how they manage to "fix themselves" when you do certain things with your players.

Jodi

jodi -- as far as your sound cutting out in the "fox" intro -- Are you running the s350 into a receiver or right into your tv speakers? I ask because I had the same issue with a standard DVD player (sony) and my new-at-the-time Denon receiver. The audio would be missing for about 2 seconds, and I think it was due to the fact that the audio codec was changeing and the Denon or maybe the sony couldn't get set in time. With the Denon you can see on the receivers display what audio source is coming in --- stereo usually for the dvd menu, then it switch to dolby for a preview then finally to dts or whatever for the actual movie -- and when it switched is when I missed a few seconds of sound.

BUT -- my problem was corrected when I upgraded to an S350 - my problem went away. But maybe you are having the same issue as I had between your receiver and s350

just my .5 cent thought
