Overscan with rear projection TV's is normal. It is one drawback to the tech. Most sets exhibit 3-5% overscan. If you are trying your display as a PC monitor, usually a custom resolution must be used, which will be slightly less than 1920 x 1080 to account for the overscan.

Does the A3000 really have overscan or is part of the image missing only because of the bezel?

I asked because this display does 1:1 pixel mapping and full single pixel resolution. If the image was overscanned, I don't see how this would be possible.

On any rate, I've mine for over two years now and it's an awesome display when properly calibrated.

Some sets (I know the Mitsubishi DLP's have this) offer a viewing mode that resizes the image to eliminate overscan. However, you are using a resolution slightly below 1920 x 1080 (1080p) and losing 1:1 pixel mapping in this mode.
