I think basically all the top end storess are doing this deal now now to decide if I want it on PS3 or 360

its nice all the consumers are getting great price on this game (with all the top end stores giving it away at $38 bucks) but leads me to wonder why the heck its happening for this specific title. does the game prod company WANT to loose money on this title? or are the retail stores just gonna take the loss themselves? strange... cuz its a very highly rated game online too so theres no real reason to be selling it for so cheap.

With price matching policies, all it takes is one store to start the ball rolling; in this case, Wal-mart. If the other stores didn't sell it for that price, then they'd end up selling it for even less as they'd have to honour their price match policy and give a further 10% off.

Best Buy definitely had not intended this price as their current flyer shows it on the front page for $69.99. They just had to respond to Wal-Mart's advertised price or end up selling it for $35.71!

Also worthy of note is that in the BB it says that they are giving away free strategy guides with the purchase of Batman

Exactly!!! It's the "lose as little money as possible" technique.

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DEVELOPERS OR QUALITY OF THE GAME!!!

Interesting. The Wal-mart version comes with 'Armoured Batsuit' DLC for the Challenges. Anyone know what other retailer exclusives are out there for Canada?

Also, for at least 1/2 hour this morning, Best Buy's site was messed and it was marked down to only $7.67. I ordered for in-store pickup but it was cancelled. I should have probably done delivery as then I might have gotten more Digital Dollars. Any lucky Quebecers get in on that pricing error?

Delivery was not an option as the game has been sold out online since they announce the low price.
