Default Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1998)

I just watched this film for the first time since it came out in theaters back in 1998. I was 8 years old at the time, I am 21 now. What did I just watch? I don't remember this being that bad.

Movie tastes change a lot in 13 years, not to mention you were a child at the time and now you're pretty much a full-grown adult.

Yeah, the second MK film pales in comparison to the first one. The biggest mistake I think they made was recasting almost everyone, and not bringing Paul Anderson back as director. Also, they tried cramming too many characters into the sequel, from the second and third games...it just really messed up the whole formula. One of the few redeeming qualities of MKA is that it was Ray Park's film debut in the U.S. (he was James Remar's martial-arts double).

Well, all I can say is that you must have started drinking at a very young age.

When I seen that Christopher Lambert wasn't coming back I was GUTTED. Then seeing that pretty much no one else was coming back except Robin Shou and Talisa Soto depressed me greatly. I absolutely LOVED the first film and the sequel was just a travesty and a dirty stain on the Mortal Kombat name.

This is my guilty pleasue and one of my all-time favorite movies. More than even the first one.

Something about its basic approach is a attractive to me. I find its bad design very interesting.

It's the best bad movie ever made. I never tire of making fun of it.
