Sony S1 vs. S300

I from Switzerland and I want buy a Bluray player.
I have see the players available: the sony BDP S1 is now in Switzerland available for USD. 900.- ca!!!(price from my dealer) and is a very good price
the original price is USD. 1650.-!!!!
I like the S1 but the S300 is more new, not so expensive BUT not available.
(another ex. the Pioneer BDP LX70 = USD. 1670.-ca!!??)

The S1 is hdmi 1.1 or 1.2 but not 1.3? I have tried the S1 with
Sony KDL-46X2000 (without a reciever direct player-lcd) if I set 1080/24p
direct source the lcd don't support the imaging!! Is possible?
I have a Pioneer plasma 507XD and in the instruction the plasma is not a 1920/1080P, 1366x768 but is 1080/24frame compatible (1080i so is with my toshiba HD setting)

If I go buy in Internet a USA version from S300 (plus voltage adapter USA110v Europa 220V)
Can be a good solution or buy the S1 “tested” by the dealer = without surprise?)

S300 vs. S1 = with the europa/Switzerland price the winner is??
