The Nativity Story (2006) - Blu-ray Forum

I missed this one when it was in theaters a few years ago. And I was thinking of checking it out this year, however...

It's not on Blu-Ray yet, and I have not seen the DVD anywhere this year. Not in Walmart, HMV, BB, FS, anywhere.

What's up? Too religious? Some controversy holding it up? Surprised the DVD is hard to find.

I've been wanting this to come out on Blu-ray for a long time, especially since supplements intended for the original DVD release like a commentary by Catherine Hardwicke and deleted scenes are just sitting around waiting to be used (Hardwicke's already confirmed this).

I'm not sure why the DVD's so hard to find. I guess retailers figure it's not a popular enough title to keep in stock. It'a shame because this is a really underrated flick that deserves more attention. Maybe next year we'll finally see it in HD.

I've been waiting for this to come to blu-ray as well.

I saw this the day it came to the theaters, the first showing. It was my wife, me and like two other people in the theater. It's sad that people will take off work and do what they can for "popular" hollywood movies but not even think twice about something like this.

Anyway, this film is simply beautiful and very well done. You don't find many movies like this in "hollywood quality". Besides Mel's "The Passion of the Christ" but subtitles drive me nuts. I'm so glad there were no subtitles in this film. I prefer viewing the picture and not missing anything by having to read subtitles. Everything from the cast, acting, scenes and so forth, was even better then I had expected.

This is one of my favorite films and it definitely deserves to be on blu-ray.

I agree with all the above posts. I have the DVD, but would gladly replace it with a Blu-ray.

According to TheDigitalBits, this is coming as part of WB's 90th Anniversary next year. I have to say it's about time. Hopefully the already-created supplements make it in, but if not, I'll at least be happy to own this in HD.

Finally, it's coming to blu! I just wish it would have been released before Christmas. I guess I can't complain though.

Really excited to see this film, wanted to and never got around to, glad it's coming to blu! Disappointed it's not being released for Christmas but will definitely watch on Easter along with Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ!!!
