Bad Boys 3

Sorry if this was already posted. Sony has hired writers to begin development of another Bad Boys film:

Oh hell yes! Sony has started development on a third installment of the Bad Boys franchise that the one-and-only Michael Bay launched years ago. The studio has hired newcomer Peter Craig, who wrote Ben Affleck's The Town and is also writing the Cowboy Bebop movie, to write the Bad Boys 3 screenplay. The hope is to have a script that would reunite director Michael Bay, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. At this point, with the project only being in the early stages, none of them have a deal to return just yet. But we can be sure Sony will be going after them and is also readying backups.

The first Bad Boys, which hit in 1995, saw Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, caught up in cases involving car chases and explosions. The sequel arrived 8 years later, in 2003, and was bigger and better (e.g. more explosions) than before. The first Bad Boys helped launched the careers of both Michael Bay and Will Smith. All parties have expressed a willingness to return if a story can be hammered out, though Sony is going to have to shell out a lot of cash to get all four back. For some reason, I don't expect that to be a problem. Craig better write one hell of a screenplay, though!

I'm a huge fan of the Bad Boys movies, even if they're campy as hell, I just love 'em. I can't say I have any reservations about another sequel, so bring it on. As long as all four are back, I'll be there opening day!
