Better TV change your movie reviews for PQ?

I just watched Big Trouble in Little China, Batman Begins and Dark Knight tonight for the first time on my KRP-500M.

I have to admit I was really dissapointed! I thought Dark Knight always had a great transfer PQ wise and on my old TV I would have given it a 4.5 star rating. The IMAX footage was so stellar I thought and the main 2.35:1 was ok... The problem now is that I have the pioneer I guess I notice a lot more that wasn't apparent before. In fact I would say DK is really flat and the darks aren't seperated very well.

Batman Begins was always weaker in the PQ department but unfortunately it really showed on the Pioneer compared to my old LG.

This all came about after I watched BTiLC! That was stellar PQ! Sure a few scenes were a bit hazy but for a 23 year old movie it was just spectacular. Going from this to the two Batman movies really left me wanting more.

Have you guys ever felt this way? Watched a Blu on old TV and thought it was great and now you have a better TV it shows that it wasn't that great?


I thought it was weird because I was expecting all blu's to blow me away more than before but I guess now the problems get highlighted.
