Default Panasonic DMP-BD10A or Samsung BD-P1200 ?

Any advice you have for me I would appreciate.

I’m looking at a new blue-ray player and I’m stuck on two, the Panasonic DMP- BD10A
and the Samsung BD-P1200. From what I have read the picture quality is close on BD. I have read that the up conversion from standard DVD’s is slightly better on the Samsung. The Samsung is HDMI 1.3 the Panasonic is not. The Panasonic has all the HD audio unlike the Samsung, but my current set up does not have the HD audio so till I replace it I won’t have a need for it. I plan on replacing my RX-V2600 to get from 1081i to 1080p and also for the HD audio some day but who knows. I plan to go HDMI straight to my TV and then sound via optical when I decide what player I want so I will get the 1080p. Last of all the 5 free movies that come with the Panasonic.

Anyone out there with any advice on what player is better; hopefully by use of the players I would greatly appreciate.

Thank you.

Your receiver is sufficient for any of the advanced audio codecs (assuming the player can decode them.) The Panny would work just fine with your current setup (as long as you're okay knowing that it can never be updated to decode DTS-HD MA (but it does decode DD+, DTHD (Dolby TrueHD), and DTS-HD (High Resolution, not Master Audio.)
