Default Buying Soundbar Today, Help!

Alright so recently moved rooms and now living in a space I can actually create a better home theater experience. Got a 42" Samsung 1080p LED (few years old) and need a soundbar to go with it! Would prefer something in the 250$ budget but price for performance ill consider.

Looking primarily at

Vizio SB4021M-A1 40" 2.1
211.96$ on Amazon

Seems to have great reviews and well priced for what you get, going to be ordering this TONIGHT unless someone on here changes my mind! Maybe theres a better alternative.

Im going to be sitting 6-8 feet directly in front of the soundbar/tv if that makes a difference

And if its not obvious ill primarily be watching blu rays with the occasional Seahawks game, maybe a little gaming when PS4 launches but likely not

Now that you have the space why settle for a soundbar when you can have a 5.1 system? Entry level systems start at $199.99.

I think as sound bars go that is a fine option. Like Number 6 said, you can have an entry level 5.1 surround system for that budget. Are you wanting to go with the sound bar for space reasons? If so then I think the Vizio option you chose will serve you well.

Have you used an audio system before this or have you run off of built-in TV speakers?

I've got the less expensive(Whatever Costco was selling on BF back in 10') Vizio soundbar in our bedroom and think it sounds great. I'm actually considering getting another one for the living room. That way I can put my HTIB set up in the family room once that is done.
