Panasonic BD60 Audio Question

If the answer to this question is good then I'm gonna but this player. I have an old school Sony receiver that just has front and rear speakers, just a simple 4 channel set-up.

Nowadays Blu-ray audio just goes through the HDMI. The back of the player only has an optional 2 channel output. I'm wondering if I can do the picture from the blu ray to the TV, and then do the audio with just a simple red and white cable into the receiver?

I have that set-up with my xbox360 and it works fine, just wondering if it would work with this player.
