The Pro series is an Elite model, the other isn't. I would always pick an Elite Pioneer over its standard counterpart.

I should have mentioned that I know that the one is Elite and the other isn't. That's what I'm looking for. What makes the PRO model Elite over the PDP?

Yea of course. They're both 1080p/24 60" Plasmas. Contrast Ratio is unknown for both. Both came out in Sept of '07

actually if you compare the specs side by side (I did once looking this same question up for my father), you'll notice that there are very few differences...such as on the Elite, it has extra "Color Temp Adjustment" settings, "ISFccc Calibration Ready" , New Independant Gamma Control (R/G/B), 9 options for viewing preferences (instead of 6), Intelligent Mode...'etc'

You basically have to pull up both specs side by side and compare...but as Doby pointed out, they both support 1080p/24Hz.

Me personally, I think the 6010 still kicks ass, and I dont think youd be missing anything important. Yeah Elites are nice...but I didnt read much to warrant an extra $1000, again, thats just my oppinion.

Awesome! Yea, I think you're right. I found the 6010 here for $4629 after shipping! -> http://www.lcdtvs.com/lcd/product.as...zmap=PDP6010FD

Anyone able to find a better price for either?

The Elites downloadable spec sheet lists all the exclusive features with an E, plus you always get the Elites 2-year warranty standard.

Thanks! I don't think I need anything the Elite has to offer. Anyone have experience with either TV?

I have actually had training on both models from the vendors....The Elite model has a deeper cell structure, allowing for more gas to be filled in the cells which makes the picture richer. Also the cells act like a shotgun, versus a sawed off shotgun, the light path is straighter and doesnt "spray", making sure that the picture doesnt bleed into the other cells as much. Also a more advance video processor allows for even deeper blacks, brighter whites, etc. The video processor also makes SD broadcasting looker better. It has a cable card slot, im not sure about the standard model. Hope this helps. It is a lot better set, worth more than 1k extra to me.

Is the Media Center through an ethernet port necessary when you can connect your PC to the TV directly? I've found the 6010 on a few sites for around $4,600 (including Shipping), but I'm having trouble finding the PRO 150 for less than $6,000. It's hard to justify that extra $1,500 (unless the money doesn't really matter). If anyone has heard that the 150 significantly outperforms the 6010 I'd consider it.

If I end up ordering, I'll let you know right away how it is. I'm going to check out Best Buy to see if they have it on display.

You can't do PIP with the pc input but with the Home Media Gallery you can.... I'm not sure I would use it, watching a football game then looking for some file on my pc at the same time.
Yea I know what you mean. I just meant that if you connect your PC to the TV you can watch any video/picture/audio you'd ever want (and you don't have to worry about the capabilities of your network in doing so). I work in IT and I've never heard of Microsoft PlaysForSure, but it doesn't sound like anything I'm interested in. I couldn't imagine needing PIP for PC content (or at least that being worth $1500).

DO NOT order from them OR - do it at your own risk.
It's another name for best buy plasma - here is their BB report

http://www.newyork.bbb.org/reports/b...pid=44&id=4046

Quote:
Nature of Business
Complaints to the BBB allege that consumers receive damaged goods from this company and are unable to get a refund. Consumers also report late delivery, incorrect pricing on company websites, rebates that cannot be honored by the manufacturer.

Customer Experience

Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau because it failed to discontinue its use of the Bureau’s registered trademark when it was asked to do so.

The company's size, volume of business, and number of transactions may have a bearing on the number of complaints received by the BBB. The number of complaints filed against a company may not be as important as the type of complaints, and how the company handled them. The BBB generally does not pass judgment on the validity of complaints filed.

Additional Business Names

This firm also does business under the following names. This is not necessarily a complete list.

Bestbuyplasma.com

LCDTVs.com

LizMadison.com

NYLiving.com

OneClickDecor.com
They also list the 6010 as having an MSRP of $10,000 which is frikkin' ridiculous.

Go with someone you know is good, like JR, Value Electronics or Plasma Concepts, etc.
