Default Help me Choose a Color for my DIY Sub

I am trying to choose a color for my new DIY 12" ED sub. I applied the first coat. I need to sand it and apply the final coat. However, I am a bit undecided. Should I go with boring black instead? I am a bit crazy and do not mind a different color than black. The color I am currently using is called Deep Garnet by Gidden from Home Depot. Other variations of this are Cabernet, Exotic Flower, Burgundy, Wine Tasting, etc. Please vote

I know black is boring, if it was stained wood I would say go with something a little more interesting, but I think since it is opaque black is the way to go.

I voted the Garnet colour. Give it plenty of coats...get it to where it's like almost a Mahogany in colour...and then ship it to me!

As long as you pay for the driver and the amplifier.

Hi Big Daddy,

I personally prefer black for the subwoofers unless you are going to use some sort of Rosewood finish and even then I think that I prefer black. Both of my subwoofers will be black, but then again, my Speakers are all going to be Automotive of Piano Black. Another thing to consider is that the Back will not draw attention to the subwoofer and it may appear smaller as a result.

Nice try John !

I vote for the shade in the third picture down ! I like it . Black is boring & you only live once .

Besides if you don't like it , you can tear it down and do it again !!

+1. You can always re-do it. Garnet is my choice.

The higher authority, my WAF, has spoken. She thinks black is boring. She likes the Garnet color. Maybe, if I agree with her, she will allow me to live after adding the 12th subwoofer to the house.

I already have three subwoofers (two 12" and one 15") that are black. The Hsu subwoofers are walnut and the AA sub is cherry. I agree with CrazyBlue and Sean. If I don't like it, I can take apart and paint it black.

I will donate this subwoofer to my wife and call it a WAFWOOFER.

Remember guys. On October, 17, 2009, 4:30PM Pacific Time, Big Daddy created a new electronic gadget, called a Wafwoofer. I need to apply for patents on Monday so that I start receiving royalties.

I second this, but voted option. BD, I like the colour, but would prefer it darker. As John said, think Mahogany. And put some streaks in, too.

Me, I like flat black, but wouldn't mind Mahogany or Garnet. Can't say I prefer one to the other, either.
