Default James Bond volumes

I was going website to website looking for movies I might enjoy, and I was considering buying the 3 James Bond volumes. For $90 it doesn't seem to bad. But the reviews I've read haven't been very helpful. For any real James Bond fan, how's the PQ? The AQ? Worth the money?

Thanks for the help.

They are stellar. Check the reviews on this site.

They are excellent, recommended.

However, if I were to buy them all over again, I would get the single-disc releases instead of the box set volumes. The quality on the box sets is pretty shoddy.

Why what's wrong with the boxes? And I'd be spending a lot more if I bought the single discs.

They also seemed to have abandon the boxes, at least for now. The last 2 catalog titles were released as singles, with no box set.

I doubt it; the two were Licence to Kill and The Man With The Golden Gun, reportedly two of the worst-selling Bond films on video. They first appeared with Quantum of Solace in a Best Buy-exclusive box set (3 keepcases in a box--not like the official set) the same day as QoS *and* Vol. 3 of the official set; they came out separately a few weeks later.

More than likely, LTK & TMWTGG either (a) won't be seen in a box till the inevitable full-series set or (b) will be in a future 3-disc set with the expanded reissue of QoS.

Though the 3-disc sets reportedly haven't sold well, I doubt they'll be abandoned--unless MGM collapses first and the new owners choose a different strategy.

I usually prefer the box sets to single release versions, but in the Bond Volumes the discs sit inside the empty box mounted on foam circles. I dunno, I just didn't really care much for them, they seemed cheap. It's just personal preference, you might think they are fine.

The discs are all the same as far as I know.

Damn, I hope the boxes don't get abandoned, I thought that looked really cool. And what does the inside of the boxset look like?

The discs are all the same as far as I know.
But then, the individual copies of LTK & TMWTGG in the Best Buy box were in eco-cases with no additional inserts. (QoS was in a standard BD case.) So it's six of one, half a dozen of the other.

I understand the discs are the same as well; the disc & menus of both LTK & TMWTGG are the same basic design as the boxes--and also presumably the stand-alones of those nine films.

I agree with SDon1969, the quality of the boxes are a little cheap, the foam in the center who hold the disc is easy the break. Also it bothered me because they are not in chronological order. I sold mine on ebay and bought the Steelbooks at FutureShop for 9.99$ each. The discs and menus are the same. So it's up to you...

I would have bought individual releases as well. not for quality but organizational reasons. I was thinking they were like other box sets I have where each movie is in their own case.

BTW, the third volume is the only one I bought as a box set. The other two I bought the individual titles which were on sale at Target.

While I would like to have them arranged chronologically as well, I really do like these box sets. They look snazzy and when I had bought all three volumes in the spring Future Shop was selling them for full price individually so it would have cost more to get all 9 like that. I dont have any regrets though.

I did have a problem with one of the foam disc holders that came off, I just put a little hot glue to keep it in place and no problem now.

I do hope they release the remaining volumes.

in my two and three vol. I had two of the circle's falling or completely off so I got industrial strength glue and let those suckers sit for a few days they seem to be solid now. But some of these sets are so poorly designed.

Dexter season 1 middle flip case was broken on arrival

I've heard some talk about many firmware updates needed, are they still around or should I see no problems?
