Talking I got a Writer from Pioneer...

I don't have much details on it, no model number or anything. It is black in color w/ No markings. I hooked it up to my test PC that has Windows XP Pro, Vista & SuSE Linux multiboot on it running a 2.8GHz P4 w/256MB Ram. The item seemed to burn/access slow w/ only 256MB, So I upgraded it to 512MB. Now the item seems to work fine w/ both access & burn. The item was discovered to contain a driver on some sort of "ROM" located on it, as Windows immediatley recognized it as a Pioneer "BluRayDrive1" and installed the drivers for it from an "UNKNOWN SOURCE". It also installed into WinVista & Linux with ease, except for the RAM issue. The drive is currently writing Ricoh BD-R discs @ 288Mbps & BD-RE discs @ 200Mbps. It took just over an hour to "fill" a disc w/ a backup file "1 x .bkf". More info will come as I know more....
