All your preferences, personalizations and data will be stored in the cloud, online, and you can switch to any PC and be able to get all your settings as if it were your own PC.

ALL data in Chrome OS is in the cloud.

In Chrome OS, every application is a web application.

They just demoed a boot sequence and booted a laptop in about 7 seconds.

And another three seconds to get into an application.

All this is open source now so you can download AND build it today. Right now.

All the Chrome OS hardware devices will use solid state disks, and no hard drives.

They want Chrome OS to feel more like a television than a computer (instant on).

By the way the whole presentation is done ON Chrome OS, using Google Docs.

“Malware happens”, so Chrome OS autoupdates itself and it makes sure, every day, that it’s running the right version of the OS. Every time you boot, they check that you’re running everything you’re supposed to be running.

Looks interesting, but scary. I'll wait and let someone else mess around with it for a while. I've always been scared of Linux.

If I can find cheap used Laptop I might load this up. Might be great for a netbook.

Apparently it is a real OS and and download... it's just not from Google.

so no chrome os until late next year i guess. how sad

can a mod change the title for me? just make this the google os thread like we have the win 7 thread
