I have last years version the 920, and it does a very good job on my Energys powering them. I think you will be pretty happy. Sonys have good head room for powerful explosions and other peak audio sounds. Congratulations on your purchase.

Setup was easy. I have everything hooked up with HDMI. I used the onscreen GUI to customize the HDMI (1, 2, 3, 4) inputs, and used the included microphone to perform the calibration.

I will say, if you can, use banana plugs on your speaker wire. I did not use them and while it wasn't hard to do, it wasn't that EZ screwing in the speaker wire. I think it was a combination of the location of the terminals and where they want you to put the wire.

Dude, it will be about as plug and play as anything else you have setup. Screw the wire in the back, hook up everything else, put the mic in let it detect the speakers and set the distances, and you will be ready to rock.

You may want to go into the GUI screen and adjust the crossover setting, first set the speakers to small and adjust the crossover to whatever you prefer 80 hz is the standard around here...

The GUI (graphical user interface) can be seen on your TV screen, so make sure you have that all hooked up, the sony owners manual has pictures of the screen and can walk you through it. You will need to the auto-calibration and that will get done very quickly, then you can adjust the crossovers.

If you have any issue with setting this receiver up, you have mental issues... Just kidding, don't hesitate to ask, there are several people that can help you on here.

ditto, that was the only pain, I don't have room for banana plugs, and there is no way spade connectors are gonna fit, So I had to do the bare wire.... a little tough with big hands.
