Default Vietnam in HD - November 15, 2011

Vietnam in HD Blu-ray Review

Vietnam in HD Blu-ray

This fall, A&E Entertainment is planning on bringing The History Channel's Vietnam in HD to Blu-ray. Done in a similar style to the network's acclaimed WWII in HD program and narrated by actor Michael C. Hall (Showtime's Dexter), this new documentary miniseries uses a wealth of never-before-seen color footage and archival sound clips to tell the story of thirteen individuals directly impacted by the Vietnam War.

While a full list of technical and supplemental specifications is not yet available for the two-disc Blu-ray set, the series does cover events beginning with the troop build-up in 1965 through the fall of Saigon.

Vietnam in HD is expected to street on November 15th. Click here to pre-order.

Playing on H2 right now. Very gripping and graphic. Some of the footage has virtually no grain. Looks like it was shot yestreday. Day one purchase for me.

absolutely NOTHING is worse on a bd release imo than stretched 4:3 material.
just a complete disgrace that renders such bds unwatchable to me.
History channel should be ashamed and recall this bd immediately and do it right.
totally pathetic.

Instantly noticed the picture had been stretched whilst looking at the screenshots & that was before I read the review! Absolutely terrible, the guy who did this should be shot - in Vietnam

It is possible to convert it back to 4:3 using the tv settings but then the new footage would go out of whack, can't win

wow, that is pathetic indeed. Might still pick it up for the price of $11, but then again maybe I/we should send the message to them that we won't buy this kinda BS....dissapointing

Definitely something they should be ashamed of. Simply unacceptable.
