Default John Woo's THE CROSSING PT 1 Blu-Ray

Forgive me if this has already been listed onsite elsewhere. The first part of Woo's THE CROSSING came out on Blu a couple of days ago, for those interested. It's Region A, and has English subtitles. I'm sure it'll start popping up in other territories hereafter.

Well worth the price if you want to be the first guy on your block to see the movie. Basically the cost of a Blu and a pizza.

Dunno when the HK one will be out, probably in the next couple of months. I'm now expecting CROSSING PT 2 to hit cinemas around Christmas, and Blu this time next year.

Be aware that the eventual final US Blu-Rays of Woo's earlier RED CLIFF 1 and 2 (the full double feature) had improved subs, colour timing and even some extra FX polishing (wires digitally removed from some stunt scenes) compared to the initial HK Blu-Rays.

It's actually Taiwanese, but the retail price is only 798 NTD, so Yesasia is marking it up ten bucks. Pretty typical of them, but in this case the only alternative for most is JSDVD, and with international shipping you're just saving a few bucks versus the Yesasia price.

Incidentally I'd be a bit wary of this, since Yesasia gives the aspect ratio as 1.78:1 and this is supposed to be a Scope film. Hopefully it's just an error.

Part two is currently supposed to be out in theaters in July. That might not happen—they still haven't announced a specific date—but whenever it comes out, I'm confident it won't be December, since that's blockbuster season in China and the same month when part one bombed last year. For part two they'd be better off going with a less competitive release period.

I started a post here, back in January of 2015:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...t=the+crossing

Is there any way to merge the two? So nobody misses out on anything

Even though it's got poor reviews, I'm still intrigued
