Default Better 80s movie - Adventureland or Hot Tub Time Machine

So far I'll say Adventureland but I haven't finished Hot Tub Time Machine yet.

Adventureland, which I loved. I enjoyed Hot Tub Time Machine as well, but Adventureland just clicked for me (plus it had Bill Haverchuck in it ).

HTTM.

I liked Adventureland too.... but geez Disney, it's been on Blu for almost a year. Can we finally get it for a more realistic price now?

Yeah that's why I haven't touched it. Might as well watch it for free on HBO HD

Disney has never been to kind with their pricing. They are the best price on release week with the coupons and sale prices. After that they seem to hover at $20+. I have been wanting Bolt for over a year now but i have not seen it dip under $20 yet. Even The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy which has been out since the beginning of 2007 is still $25.

Yeah, great great show! I picked up a used copy of the yearbook (around $80 IIRC). Worth every penny. Sad that it never caught on and got the ax so quickly. But at least a large chunk of the cast went on to be big stars, not to mention Apatow himself. I definitely got a kick out of seeing Bill in Adventureland. He was my fave in F&G.

I would say Hot Tub Time Machine. They're different types of movies though. Adventureland is actually set in the 80's while Hot Tub Time Machine is about going back to the 80's.

But yeah, I love HTTM

Yeah bill was very funny all the geeks where really. My favorite character had to be Seth Rogen's character Ken Miller and that was even before he went on to be a big star. Most of the cast went on to bigger things which is nice. I always like seeing John Francis Daley on Bones.

I prefer Adventureland. Its "indie," melancholy tone appeals to me more. And Ryan Reynolds played the charming, yet vapid douche so perfectly.

Adventureland was so misadvertised... Emphasizing "From the Director of SUPERBAD" so much led people to expect a hilarious and broad comedy when it's more of a coming-of-age dramedy.

I would definitely agree that Adventureland was a Dramady and H.T.T.M. a comedy. I enjoyed both very much. And not to rub it in, but it was on sale 3 weeks ago @ Ultimate Electronics store for $16.95

Hot Tub Time Machine for me. But then again Adventureland was the movie that made me realize I can't stand Kristen Stewert.

+1 She has one facial expression and its the "I think I'm goin to be sick" expression. Though I did like Adventureland because it reminded me of having summer jobs when I was in college.

Hot Tub Time Machine! I enjoyed Adventureland but surprisingly, for some reason, it didn't evoke quite as my nostalgia for me.
