Arrow Leonardo DiCaprio - Legacy Of Secrecy - JFK Assassination

Quote:
Leonardo DiCaprio will star in and produce "Legacy of Secrecy", a film adaptation of Lamar Waldron and Thom Hartmann's book about the John F. Kennedy assassination reports Variety.

The book follows FBI informant Jack Van Laningham (DiCaprio) who was part of a dangerous and long-term undercover operation in which he became confidant to Mafia godfather Carlos Marcello, a man who ran much of the organized crime throughout Louisiana and Texas.

The book claims Marcello confessed to Van Laningham to having ordered JFK's assassination and includes a bunch of information from declassified FBI files dealing with the clandestine undercover operation. Marcello's name did not appear in the 1964 Warren Report on the assassination.

DiCaprio and his father George will produce through their Appian Way production banner at Warners. A 2013 release is likely to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the assassination.

Sounds interesting.....just as long as Oliver Stone isn't involved.

Good move that he's bringing the Mafia into this, as I don't recall them ever being in the forefront of any JFK movie (elaborated more upon in History Channel documentaries though). I'm always up for a good thriller with Leo in it, except for that last one eh hem Anyway, hopefully he'll pick a great director.

Sounds kind of interesting. I think this could be a very well put together movie. No doubt that it will come out in 2013 to coincide with the 50 year anniversary just like the article said.

Even that idea, "Pretender," sounds better as a possible scenario to the tragic event, especially for the upcoming Transformers sequel DARK OF THE MOON than this Leo Production...
I hope you are being sarcastic.

lol.We have ourselves a clairvoyant among usI support Sylentwolf on this. There is no way of explaining the events after the Zapruder film was released without resorting to magic if you ask me.

But that besides, the new movie with DeCaprio must really be something special since-to me-the subject matter seems to be exhausted.

Yeah, for sure. I'm on the side that believes something was "amiss" that day. I think once Fletcher Prouty (sic) came out and basically said he was Mr. X in Stone's "JFK," that gave much more substance to the theories and silenced many of the critics who simply believe anyone who supports those theories are just commies and hippies. That and....................you know................overwhelming evidence.

Mr. Rate: That's how a conspiracy works. Them boys on the Grassy Knoll they were dead within three hours, buried in the damned desert, unmarked graves out past Terlingua.

Nick Memphis: You know this for a fact?

Mr. Rate: Still got the shovel...
