I ordered it from amazon.uk last week. It should hopefully arrive this week. It is region free according to this site and others.

Thanks. It looks to be region free, so I think we're good.
As for the Prime, no-go, as there's really no 2 day int'l shipping. Though the overseas shipping is only 6-10 days and not expensive, so its not bad. Total is about $19 US. Thanks for the help! |

A good place to check for region problems is : http://bluray.liesinc.net
If it defaults to Region A releases, there are region selections at the top. Otherwise, the direct link to Region B releases is : http://bluray.liesinc.net/index.php?region=b |

Your US Prime membership won't do anything for you, but the standard Royal Mail option is usually pretty quick, about 4 days to the States.
Plus, for 10 pounds, it's a heckuva deal. And yes, it's region free, though the extras are PAL and won't play on your US machine. |

Once is an amazing import. One of my most treasured Blu-ray purchases. No reason not to import it, as I'm sure Fox won't be releasing it in the US anytime soon. Plus the bonus features will play in certain US machines. My Samsung 1500 plays it on my Samsung HDTV (with 120 hz) but it won't play on my PS3 with the same TV...so your milage may vary. The film plays on all players I've tried it on....BD35, 1500, 2550, PS3. It's definately region free, audio is DTS HS-MA Stereo...AVC encode. There is a review posted already, and several threads dedicated to this subject.

No extras, huh? I have a PS3, so since your experience with the PS3 was no good, I can assume the same.
I may hold off now. Extras are usually not a make-or-break for me, but I like to listen to commentary tracks now and again. At $19 with no bonus features (and only 2.0 audio mix), as much as I enjoyed this film, I'll probably wait and see for now... |
