Default Need Help with Marantz and Panny Blu-ray Player Not Playing 7.1

I need some help with getting 7.1 DTS audio to work on my Marantz SR5003. When I stick The Incredible Hulk or any other 7.1 soundtrack I'm only getting 5.1. The only way to get 7. 1 one is to turn it to DTS Neo 6. I don't think that that is correct. I'm using bitstream which the panny is set to, and on the receiver it's only showing c,l,r,sl,sr, the surrounds aren't lighting up. The ext1 and 2 are. It will play 7.1 when I run it PCM from the BD player but from what I understand i shouldn't have to do that with this reciever decoding all the formats. I looked through the manual and have searched the forum and net for an answer but have come up with nothing. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

To begin with, The Incredible Hulk is only 5.1

It seems like you have your settings right, so a couple of things: try playing a disc that is programmed for 7.1 (like Hellboy 2 or the new Rambo). This should light up your speaker lights and you should hear audio.

For 5.1 tracks, you'll have to matrix the sound. This is done by selecting ProLogic IIx. It will then split the audio from the 2 surround channels and send it to your 4 speakers.

If these things don't work, verify you have your speakers connected properly by playing your test tones. You should hear the tone circle the room from each speaker.

Well I feel like an idiot. I don't know why I kept thinking that The Incredible Hulk was 7.1. I swore I had checked Hellboy 2 but when I tried it again everything is working. Not quite sure I undertand why the SBL and Right don't light up instead of the ext 1 and 2. But at least everything is working now. Thanks for the help. It was quite a simple fix to. Just change which movie i was watching!
