I just checked Amazon (the only place that had Billy Jack for sale on Blu-ray by the way) and it's now currently unavailable. I just checked the Image Entertaiment (the manufacturer of the Blu-ray) website and it's not there no more! I'm wondering if it was recalled? Glad I already got mine from Amazon! Very strange since this title was not availble in one B&M store in my area.

I doubt it's OOP already, perhaps there were issues, and they're sending a newer version that isn't quite ready......

I am holding off for a lower price, but may have to jump on a third-party seller for this one just to be safe...... I'll wait a week or so and see what happens with it...... I just can't see them removing it completely because it hasn't been for sale long enough for them not to take a huge loss on the restoration.

The Technical aspects didn't get huge praise, so perhaps they have a "re-do" in the works.

Best Buy has it on backorder, but local store check has it still available at 3 locations near me in the metro, so probably not a recall.

I own it, and it's the best this low budget film has ever looked, the only qibbles I had with the blu were regarding the soundtrack, there is only the new 5.1 HD one included on the blu-ray release and will sound a bit differernt for those more familiar to the original mono track, they DID NOT include the original mono soundtrack that is a choice availbale on the new DVD. and the generic sythesizer music that plays on the menu screen os kinda cheesy. How does Amazon handle recalls for those who bought one of these, if this happen to be one?

First of all, there's no indication that there's a recall. The simplest explanation is that they are simply out of stock everywhere because not many discs were pressed.

Second, *if* there were a recall, it would normally be handled by the manufacturer/studio, not the retailer who sold you a copy.

Billy Jack was a good movie, but liked the first Billy Jack movie, Born Losers even better. I remember finding a DVD copy of that flick and it deserves to be released on Blu as well.

They need to do a blu boxset w/ all 4 Billy Jack films, i would also like to see "The Master Gunfighter"(also a Tom Laughlin flm from the 70's) get a blu release!

Funny, I DID NOT preorder it and I got mine from Amazon, that is when Amazon was actually selling it!

Best Buy B&M stores have it now for sale for $19.99, I saw two for sale today at the store I was at.

It's one of the best films ever made IMO. It's got it all- action, drama, comedy,and music!

I got it this week at Best Buy for $13.99 I thought it was $19.99 but it was on sale, that's a good deal for in store.

I have always loved this movie.
I have the Box set with all the films. "Born Losers" is a blast as well. Very cool flick.

They have also released a re-mastered regular version of this movie on DVD now too. But for the money it's probably not low enough to keep you off the Blu ray.

Looks really nice, I enjoyed the great colors on this, from the Indian reservation scenes, but mostly the vintage instruments guitars,drums amps and Bernard's Gold Corvette LOL..

"You drove a six thousand dollar automobile into the lake"? lol

Wow! 6 grand I'll take 70's pay rates along with 70's prices right now!!
