I have to blow off a little steam. I really enjoy online play with my PS3. In fact I rarely play the campaign mode on the two games I have (RFOM, R6V) because the online is so much more interesting to me.
I have been playing R6V quite a bit lately and every time I get into a team game there are always people without a mic/headset. This is really unbelievable because this game is hard by itself and adding to that not being able to talk to your teammates is silly. There are so many advantages to having a head set like being able to communicate enemy locations, exchange weapon info, etc which actually improves your gamer score. I am not a great player, I have fun, but I enjoy winning more than losing and when I get into a game with players without a headset I have the suspicious feeling we are going to lose. Has anyone else experienced this and can relate? I bought a bluetooth headset at Fry's for $25 and it works great. The games I have were $60 each and the system is $600 (soon to be $500) and people cannot afford a mic. Its getting so bad for me that I want to kick people out of a room if they don't have a mic. I don't think I would ever do this, but I am being pushed people. |

I understand your point, but I have to be honest. Sometimes I play online without a headset. After a while, I get tired of hearing trash talkers and those little upset kids that like to scream and cry. I also hate a poor sport, but the two things I hate the most.
1. You grab the sniper (or any weapon) only to get killed by a teammate because they wanted the same weapon. 2. Someone going around killing everyone on his or her own team. I still don't understand why people do this. |

![]() It's possible to set the friendly fire to 0% to curb it...but if you didn't set up the game you can't. Not sure if they will implement something by the time it goes into production. But despite that the game is still a BLAST. |

I can definately relate, especially on RB6 Vegas as you have stated.
If you go into a team game you should have a headset, if I'm the host and you don't I'm booting you. You cripple your team significantly by wandering around on your own. I don't really care if you are playing every man for himself, in fact most of the time I play without a headset in those games to keep out the noise. That's more of personal preference I would say. On a separate note though, less kids need to have mics, and more adults need them. But this isn't really a solvable problem, more of a gripe. |

Totally agree. Coming from Socom world where basically everyone online has a mic, but has to share mic time, and you can vote those kids off and or mute them, I think most online games are quite frankly less developed online.
We all use our mics online though, and it is a huge advantage. I do think it is funny these people can spend $600 on a sytem and $60 for a game, but not $20 for a mic? LOL Actually I play alot online, and competively, I actually use Bluetooth keyboard, and mic alot. Cannot wait for Socom coming out on PS3 the new review in EGM this month has me excited. |

I dont use a mic, but then again, i dont play R6V.
I have to admit, I would think a game like that, team based, should require a mic. If you are working as a team, you really should be working as a team. Games like Warhawk and RFOM however, even though 'team based' ar eslightly less, and they can be played without a mic just fine. These are the types of games I play. One day on the Warhawk Beta, I heard a couple guys complaining that us people without the mics (that could still hear their idiot droning) were dumb, and it kinda made me angry. Tactical team based games? Yes, people should wear a mic. Just because a game is online though, it shouldnt be expected for everything. |
