Little Big Planet 2 on the way?

US, April 16, 2010 - Sony hasn't announced LittleBigPlanet 2, yet, but it is apparently on the way. Electronic musician Ochre announced on his Twitter feed today that he has licensed a song called "Infotain Me" to Sony for LittleBigPlanet 2. The sequel is being developed for PlayStation 3.



We did previously hear about something called LittleBigPlanet Motion, which uses the PlayStation Move controller to manipulate the environment. But it isn't clear if that is LittleBigPlanet 2, downloadable content for the first game, or something different entirely.

IGN requested comment from Sony but received the usual "Sony does not comment on rumors and speculation" business.

I sure hope so!

If they don't make the DLC for LBP1 compatible with LBP2 they are going to be making a huge mistake. That will turn SOOOOOOOOOOO many people off, myself included.

They've made a ton I'm sure off of DLC alone, they'd better not try to double dip the same costumes on LBP 2.

I think one LBP is enough. I love them game but I really dont see anything else they could add to it. That being said, I think an LBP 2 would work on PSP.

i'm sure it will be completely different from the original...that is the only way media molecule could justify a second installment. maybe it will have a different perspective...like 3rd person, for instance. and you get to fly planes, drive boats, and shoot tons of guns and cannons.

I hope they make level building a little easier... I tried pretty hard to make levels, but could never make anything I'd want to share with people.

Or maybe I'm just not good at level design.

Isn't it ALREADY 3rd person? Or did you mean 1st Person? Which would take away from the whole Sackboy thing where you could customize your character.

I hope for a 360 degree camera. I would love one that I can put anywhere. You could put in on the ground where you would be walking straight at the camera on a front view. You could walk right over it. The camera then would show your back walking away. Or you could put the camera on an overhead view or the back side of your level...
One or 2 more walkable lines would be cool too..

I think a huge selling point on the game, and what makes it fun and all is that it's 2-D with little bits of 3-D in there.

I prefer that, to making LBP a 3D open environment type deal. But that's just me.

It wouldn't be 3D where you can rome anywhere. I still love the side scrolling and want it to stay. I think more camera freedom would be nice.

i don't think it's "3rd person"...maybe "3rd person omniscient"? isn't 3rd person like in Uncharted, when you can't see behind you?
