Default Do you use your Blu-ray player for anything else besides movies?

I have the Sony BDP-S360 and its Xross Media Bar easy navigation along with the ability to play dvd-mp3 files gives it an advantage over my dvd changer.

I have the S360 and it is only used for blu-rays and DVDs. It can't play divx so I have to use the xbox for that.

Default PS3 is my Blu-Ray Player

I bought my PS3 in Jan of 2008, then I bought my HDTV in Sept of 2008.

I use my PS3 only for games and Blu-Ray Disc movies, I don't watch DVDs on it because I don't think the DVD upscaling makes a huge difference.

I use a Sony DVD Player for DVDs, and I'm happy with the quality.

I still think DVD offers very High Quality.

Blu-Ray only. The only time I put a DVD in my S360 was to see how well it upconverted and my Pioneer does a better job in that respect, so I only use it for Blu-Ray.

My wife uses them as CD players all the time. Specially, my HT system has been a workhorse as a music center.

I have an Oppo BDP-83SE, and besides BDs I use it as a CD\SACD\DVD player, and use it to view my photos via USB stick and whatever other content I might have on it.

However, it's mostly my CD player- I listen to music all day long, if I don't play the guitar, or watch BDs.

well i own a PS3 so i game if im not watching a movie. lol I dont understand why everyone doesnt own a PS3, its your best bet for blu ray, if something new comes out sony will just release a firmware update and you dont have to go buy a 300.00 blu ray player????? You pay for what you get.

My Panasonic BD30 was used solely for Blu-ray. My BDP-83 is used for any disc format that I play in the den (Blu-ray, DVD, CD, DVD-Audio, SACD) and for playing some VOB files stored on the network (served via DLNA server, mostly kid's stuff that our daughter watches).

I use my Magnavox for Blu only. Tested it's upconverting abilities and they were pretty good but not as good as my HD DVD player, so I use that one for my standard def dvd's as well as my reds.

Not only do I watch blurays on my Oppo'83, it also serves as a mean little grilling machine, after all, it is a multi-functional device, lol...
