The Living Daylights Blu-ray AMAZON PRE-ORDER
![]() Scored!!!!! ![]() I thought I'd have to buy the entire Bond 50 just to get to this blu ray. Not anymore! Got mine at Target and it seems they're the only ones selling it (not even in their website). Went to three stores to get it too. Apparently, this movie is flying off the shelves. ![]() Last edited by pro-bassoonist; 01-10-2013 at 11:11 PM. |

Yep. I purchased all of the individual 50th Anniversary James Bond DVDs in one day (the day after I bought a Blu-ray player for the first time!). This was pre-planned, and I had money set aside for the mass purchase.
Thankfully, I live within walking distance of Target, Walmart, and Best Buy, so I was able to grab all the respective exclusive editions. I took the last copy of Octopussy on the shelf at Walmart, so I guess that my timing was perfect. |

I have all the individual Bonds now. I decided against the Bond 50 set because I really like the slipcovers for the first several that were released. I recently purchased the Target exclusives on eBay for cheaper.

This discussion compelled me to watch my Blu-ray of The Living Daylights this evening. This movie looks spectacular in high definition, and I was blown away.
I've always figured this one as one of the most underrated Bond flicks. I love the A-ha theme song, Maryam d'Abo is beautiful, and the cargo plane action scenes are priceless. I also love the ending, when the Afghan rebels show up at the recital, apologizing because they "had a little trouble at the airport." It's probably insensitive for me to laugh at this scene, considering all of the real-life events that have happened since this film, but I always laugh just the same. This Blu-ray also features the "Happy Anniversary 007" TV special that I videotaped when it originally aired ages ago. A fun memory! |

I picked this and a few other Bond BD up from Amazon.com. Soundtrack is underatted but I hate that when "Where Has Everybody Gone" was playing it was coming through one of the bad guys headphone in non hi fi. I wanted to hear it in full fidelity.

And Timothy Dalton was pretty unfairly slammed as Bond. He was an extremely good fit. Even as awful as License to Kill got at times he was still very good and that take on Bond predates Craig and company's supposed 'reinvention' by more than fifteen years. |

I didn't like this as much as License to Kill, but still a solid Bond flick in my book.

My favourite Bond film. Alas, a poor Blu-ray compared to the other Bonds. Not nearly as much detail and artificially boosted contrast. Only a slight improvement over the DVD and clearly struck from the same master without the 4K treatment that many other Bonds got on Blu. Very annoying.
