Seriously, I think I'm alone in having faith that Dre will actually deliver this next year. It's like the Duke Nukem Forever of music.

I heard from a friend of a friend who works at Power 106 in LA that the first single will be with Jay-Z and is dropping in the next few weeks. We will see.

UPDATE: Single is titled "Under Pressure" and Dre has stated it will be released in the next two weeks!!!

Detox could come at any moment, but it will not. Dre apparently has finished literally dozens of tracks since his last album in the studio. But his perfectionism and fear of hurting his "legend", has scuttled any actual album release. He already is very rich so money is not a concern yet. Maybe when he needs the money, it will be released.

I hope so but I'm not as sure anymore. It seems like one of the most anticipated rap albums will never see light of day. The Chronic was a classic and 2001 didn't dissapoint, I still have both of them on good rotation, but I don't know what's up with Detox. He could have picked 15 tracks in 05 and I'm sure it would have been a solid album. What I like about Dre is that he has consistency with good music, it's never a question if Dre can make good music.

But Dre has messed up a lot of good projects, not just Detox. Everything was going lovely for the N.W.A. reunion, they released "Chin Check" and everyone seemed to be down with it, but Dre never bothered with the reunion and truly ruined what could have been another great album. Perfection is one thing, but it's almost ridiculous.

I still think it will eventually come out.

Chin Check is an amazing single but I don't think they ever really wanted to release an album to respect Easy E.

Well I remember seeing Dre, Snoop, Ren and Cube performing a lot back then and promoting the reunion. In particular i remember them on Farm Club and Cube mentioning that they were going to do it, my memory is a little faded on that though. It seemed to me that Snoop, Cube and Ren were ready to do it but Dre never got around to it. I also remember Cube saying that they were ready but Dre got caught up with other projects and never got around to it. I could be wrong though.
