United Kingdom When do Tesco Entertainment take the money for orders?

I ordered the BttF trilogy a few months ago, and it was dispatched on Thursday the 21st of October. I received the item on the release date, Monday the 25th.

However, no money has been taken out of my bank for the order! Am I just incredibly lucky and they have forgotten to charge me OR do they usually take this long?

Sounds like a mistake on their behalf. They may still take the money but it sounds unlikely

Are you sure it hasn't been taken. Check your statement just to be sure. You might've missed it! Hopefully not though!

Well your bloody lucky because I doubt they would take this long to take the money!

They haven't taken the money from me either for Iron Man 2 that i had shipped last friday (22nd).

I cancelled the rest of the order, Alien & BTTF tin and they even sent me a £5 voucher to use for the disappointment of not getting the rest of my order.

Kinda wish i left it on order now if they ain't gonna charge me for it.

I've had this before. They ship the product but then they take the money after although its not been as late in taking the money but it will soon happen.

Just leave enough in your account for them to take it rather then assume they forgot.

You'll all be charged

It seems to take Tesco about 3 weeks to actually take the money from your account. It took ages before I was charged for Halo Reach. It's also been 9 days since my Alien set was dispatched, and I'm yet to be charged for that.

I've just phoned tesco and asked why they hadn't charged samdaman94 for his bttf and they said they'd totally forgot due to a computer error and thanked me for bringing this to there attention and will charge him straight away.

Normal with Tesco and Sanisburys as well oddly.. I have had them take up to a month after delivery before taking payment.. They must just batch process everything or something

I've had it the other way with tesco. They actually put my money in reserve for my orders. Meaning they didn't actually take my money but had asked my bank to reserve that amount which in the mean time I had no access to. Suffice to say after that fiasco I dint use tesco.

Tesco are odd. They do odd things, my brothers ordered a few things for me and they cancel the order after months of waiting. If you order anything from Tesco's and it has a delivery may take 28 days next to it, it's usually code for no chance matey. They had the Spidey BD trilogy for £11 a while back and it wouldn't even let you click buy. I don't think if they ask your bank to reserve the money is too far out of order it's better than forgetting about it and going overdrawn... I guess it depends how long it is before they ship.

I think it's really inconvient for people to do it in the way Tesco do.Someone could think they've already paid for it and spend all there wages then when the charge for the blu-ray comes it could take them overdrawn.

UPDATE: Still waiting on Iron man 2 charge since release date as at 4th Nov.

Me too.

Seems like everyone who ordered anything for release on the 25th from them never got charged for anything.

Company really is a joke.. I rarely use them so its been easy to trace but they had a code live when I place this order which could be combined with a quidco discount so I used them once..

Just spoke to them and they have confirmed when they took payment which completely ties with when my bank shows it went.. Im guessing they just sent everyone the email out regardless..
