Are there games exclusive to the PS3 you wanna play or are you after the media features? Personally if I had it to do again I'd go for a media steaming box such as the WD one and then buy a Blu-ray player on the side.

And not play ps2 games. Honestly, keep the 360 and buy a ps3 so you can have the best of both worlds.

Just to make sure you know...

FREE internet gaming, BUILT-IN wi-fi, NO power brick, and oh yeah, a built-in blu-ray player. But I'm sure you already know about that.

I don't usually recommend selling a system. You won't get anywhere near what you paid for it back. Unless you get a great deal (selling to a friend or something, trading, etc) it's probably better to just save the money for a PS3 and own both.
That said, I guess if you never plan on using your 360 again selling it will help reduce clutter!

Yeah, I got upset at Xbox as my achievements from the last 5 years got lost when i recovered my gamertag, and that i can never afford xbox live, and i can never get close enough to my router to even get on xbox live, its just a big mess!

I would if I were you. I had a 360 twice already and I just got bored with it both times. I play my ps3 more than any console I had. You should get the ps3 because their are alot of great games for it. If your a racing fan, you don't want to miss Gran Turismo 5. Playstation move is coming soon, which will be alot better than natal. PS3 home is fun too, much better than the sims. Ps2 games will come eventually to the ps3, just not yet because ps2 is still selling well. 360 is growing old because it lacks technology. PS3 has the power for another 5 + years.

  • Has some great gaming exclusives
  • Less clutter / cleaner solution (like someone mentioned, no power brick, built-in wifi, built-in blu-ray player, etc.)
  • Hard drives are easily upgraded since they're just standard laptop hard drives (I haven't kept up with the 360 though to know if it can use any hard drive now or if you still need to buy the x360 specific drives)
  • Excellent Blu-ray player
  • Blu-ray based games so you won't probably have to swap discs in games
  • Along with that, hard drives are standard on all models so games can take advantage of that to speed loading times, etc.
  • DNLA device (although, I owned a 360 for a few months, when it was first released, and thought their windows media type interface was nicer)
  • Free networking
  • Home (social gaming type thing)
  • Life/folding@home
  • Photo app for doing slideshows
  • Dynamic themes (and lots of user created themes you can download for free from several sites)
  • Screenshot capability but not used nearly as much as I'd like (and I'm pretty sure the 360 has this as well anyway)
  • Bluetooth remote is available separately (I love this b/c I don't have to worry about line of site and it's more convenient than the controller when watching movies)
  • Motion sensing controllers that are sometimes used well in games and sometimes not but the capability is there
  • Keyboard/mouse support in some games and can be used to navigate the XMB. I was excited about that at first, coming from a PC background, but it really wasn't all it was cracked up to be since the games / interface aren't really designed with that in mind. Support for that is very limited also and maybe it's just game dependent and not a feature of the PS3.

That and, it's the first game system I've ever owned that has a 'printer' option in the menu...

If you want the system with the best games...then go with a PS3. If you want a kick ass blu-ray player as well... go with a PS3... If you care about having the best visual and aural experience... go with a PS3.

If you game online and went the best online gaming experience.. go with a PS3

If you have a ton of free time and have to have every exclusive on every system then get all the consoles.. For me, I can't even keep up with the PS3's offerings. Still I do wish I had access to exclusives on other systems from time to time. I did used to own a 360 (launch) and a Wii.

What ultimately matters is what you consider useful.

My gaming collection and wishlist are what they are because the contents consist of games I want to play and the systems that play them.

You forgot the absolute most basic reason for switching. The PS3 actually works.

I've had my PS3 for about 3 years and put a LOT of hours on it between gaming and movies and never so much as a hiccup. My friend has had the 360 about the same length of time and is on his FIFTH console. My neighbor who plays the 360 a ton is the worst case I've seen with nine units in about four years.
