Vantage Point mysterious icon?

For those that have Vantage Point Blu-Ray...

Does anyone know what the "sound icon" looking thing on the top left corner of the main menu is for?

It seems you can click it on or off. I have tried both and watched the movie, but nothing seems different to me.

What exactly does it do? I've looked everywhere online if this was an "easter egg" or what this icon/button is for, but I've come up empty.

A lot of Blu-rays have this. It literally just turns on/off the sound effects on the Blu-ray menu when clicking through it, from my experience.

I'm surprised this is the first time you've seen this. Sony Pictures does this for all their Blu-ray releases for like a year or two now...

It simply turns off the sound effects of the menu.

Well that explains it if it is a Sony thing. I guess I'm not too fond of Sony movies. WB, Columbia, Paramount, Lionsgate, Pixar...

First Sony picture I have cuz I got it for free =)
