Default What popular TV shows do you think would fail today's standards?

I'm not to good with ratings or what it takes for a TV show to stay on the air so this thread could be pointless. But what old/semi old popular show do you think would get cancelled with todays standerd? I don't think these shows would have made it.

Dawson's Creek
Gilmore Girls
Charmed

Can't think of any others at the moment.

I think the Creek, Charmed and Gilmore Girls would've been just fine. I don't think shows like Charlie's Angels or Baywatch would work today.

This is tough actually. Dawson's Creek wouldve been just fine. It caters to the all american society like Beverly Hills 90210. Baywatch for surely wouldve been just fine. If I had to take a stab at it I would say maybe The Equalizer or Dragnet. Got Em!!

They should resurrect Baywatch for today's generation. I feel sorry for everybody under 15 who's growing up without seeing them run down the beaches. Each pilot season I'm actually surprised to see they aren't trying to bring this back in some form.

Seinfeld.

The first season or two were in the tank. The way NBC operates now, there is no way that would've made it.

Bosom Buddies.

I can see all the activists in an uproar already. Two straight men dressing in drag to save some money on rent is offensive to all the gays in the world!!

Great shows like MASH, Cheers, Friends, they all took a while to establish an audience.

You don't have that luxury anymore. Either produce numbers early on in your first season or die.

Watching Yasmine run the beach when I was 12 years old, was where I suddenly developed a love for curvy brunettes that currently exists 12 years later, lol.

correct. But it got 79 episodes. It wouldn't have gotten past 13 in this day and age.

All In The Family wouldn't make it, and not because of the ratings.

That was the first one to come to mind for me. Most shows now a days get far less the one season to prove themselves let alone two.
