Default Marvel Versus Movie Pirates

I am a manager at a theater and we recieved a very interesting fax the other day. Usually the Motion Picture Association offers a $500 reward for catching a movie pirate in action. Marvel has offered to give $1000 to the employee who catches a pirate as well as $1000 to the manager on duty. I would think this should encourage employees at theaters to be very alert and wtaching very closely for illegal recording. I just wanted to share this with you guys and see what you guys think.

You know, by the way some copies look on the net, I would think some managers and or employees record it themselves and post it/sell it.

Hopefully it does some good. I really don't like the movie piracy going on. Not only am I spoiled with blu-ray quality, but I believe (in my own opinion) that the cost of movies could actually decrease for those of us who obtain them legally, if piracy were to cease. I've had people quote me figures and stuff tho trying to say piracy doesn't affect cost, but I will never be convinced. More power to 'em.

Yeah, there has definitely been times when a movie is definitely recorded in an empty theater with professional equipment. I'll admit that I used to occasionally watch pirated movies about 6 years ago when I was a broke college student, and some were pretty new movies that were excellent quality. I've grown up since then and realized pirating movies is wrong and anything they can do to catch people is good news to me.

What happens when the pirates have $1001 to offer managers as a bribe? Escalation.

The smart manager would take the bribe money for $1001, then turn the guy in for the other $1000.

I don't understand why there are news articles everywhere inadvertently publicizing Iron Man 2 being on the net. Every other movie gets on the net early as well but now all of a sudden it's a big deal?

I still say we deal with them like regular pirates...

By throwing Navy Seals at them.

and these pirates don't have swords or patchs. more like acne cream and ketchup stains.

could you imagine Navy Seals bursting into one of thier "lairs". while they playing WoW or something. They'd crap themselves.

With R5's and DVD screeners people filming in theaters is the LAST thing Marvel should worry about. They should try to stop the foreign countries from making DVD's early and stop their own employees from putting screeners online.

Not to mention that most pirated movies now don't even come from the US theaters. I'd say 90% are Russian. The only thing people do here is rip the audio tracks to sync with the films.

I really hope some moron tries it while I am working. I could really use the cash. Plus I'd feel like I am helping Marvel out and enjoy their characters.

A little bribery goes a long, long way....
That's one of the advantages of Disney paranoia owning Marvel.

The movie is all ready online, granted it's in Russian. I check pirate sites out of fear of my film getting leaked. I have copies of the film saved at three different locations here in the state of Ohio.

Though, Logan, in this case, we would have to throw ol' Hulk at 'em.
