Well, King Crimson's a favorite of mine, but I also like all of the other mentions on the polls.

Such a tough choice...

I'm going with Led Zeppelin on this one. I have the majority of their songs and it's always a pleasure to listen to.

AC/DC, Def Leppard, Rolling Stones, The Who, are all close seconds for me though. I started getting into Jimmi Hendrix and he's pretty cool.

A very tough choice, indeed. A lot of great rock n roll bands to choose from. However, without The Beatles, there wouldn't be as many great rock n roll bands. The Fab Four gets my vote.

I voted for Queen... but then how do you define "classic rock" here? I think Metallica and Dream Theater are "classic" enough for being around for over 20 plus years.

Tough one but I had to go with Rush with Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin running a close 2nd and 3rd and Rush is Canadian...

How could you forget Yes on this list? It is my favorite Rock Band and is considered by most to be if not the greatest Progressive Rock Band then it is at least in the top 3 or 5.

Went with Led Zeppelin but it was tough. Black Sabbath would probably be second.

Love Metallica but dont really see them as classic rock.

I hate Rush

I voted for Sabbath. Zeppelin and Floyd were right there, but I figured they would get plenty of love anyway.

I would like to vote for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. They have been around for 35 years, still cranking out great music, and sound excellent live.

I'm with you on this one, Naturephoto - King Crimson, but no Yes?? Progressive Rock is still my favorite - Yes, Peter-Gabriel-Era Genesis, Floyd, Rush... love those epic-length songs that hardly ever got any airtime on the radio back in the day...

Anyway, I went with Pink Floyd as my favorite from this list... just saw Roger Waters: The Wall Live in Philly back in November, what an awesome concert! Although, I much prefer the older Floyd as their best...

Man some of these groups bring back memories. My top five from your list would be:

Aerosmith
Def Leppard
Genesis
The Police
Journey

I dont have the biggest knowledge of classic rock bands but I would add these groups also as I think they qualify:

Yes
Duran Duran
Van Halen
Quiet Riot
Talking Heads
Tears for Fears
Eurythmics
Jefferson Airplane
Blondie
David Bowie

Man I remember those MTV videos like it was yesterday. 80's is my favorite decade! Got Em!!

Another Classic Rock Band favorite that comes to mind missing from the list is The Moody Blues. Certainly in my top 5 or so favorite Classic Rock bands.

Had to go with the Beatles. In my opinion, not only are they the best classic rock band, they are the best band of all time .

The Beatles, hands down. Such an influential band with a huge discography that you could listen to whichever mood you're in.
